About Visual German
We help people who live in Germany – or want to – learn the German they need every day, by looking at the places where they will use it.
Why we built it
Moving to Germany means learning hundreds of new words fast: at the Bürgeramt, the bakery, the doctor's, the landlord's door. Word lists are hard to remember; places are easy.
So Visual German teaches words inside pictures of real everyday scenes. You see the kitchen, tap the kettle, hear der Wasserkocher, and later find it again from memory. Stories, dialogues, grammar and guides to life in Germany build on the same scenes, from A1 to C2.
Everything works in English, Bangla and German, because many learners think best in their own language.
Our mission
Make everyday German easy to see, hear and use – so newcomers can handle real situations with confidence from their first weeks in Germany. The complete A1 level stays free for everyone.
Our vision
A world where language is no barrier to arriving: where anyone, whatever their first language or budget, can learn German in a way that feels natural, and feels at home in Germany sooner.
How we work
Learn by seeing
Pictures, places and stories first; rules and lists where they help.
A1 free, for real
The whole beginner level is free. Premium pays for everything after it.
Our own content
We write our own word lists, sentences and stories. Nothing is copied from textbooks.
AI helps, people check
AI helps us draw pictures and draft texts. We review and fix them, and you can report any mistake.

The team
Visual German is built by a small, independent team. We are looking for native speakers, translators and teachers to help us review content – see Careers. →
